Ikigai Coach Training And Group Coaching Certification

I am excited to announce that we have added an Ikigai Coach Training module to the Group Flow Coaching Program.

This training makes it easy to help your coaching clients find their Ikigai and helps you guide them through the process of creating a visual mind map of their Ikigai that they can print out, set as their desktop or smartphone wallpaper and put on the wall for a constant reminder.

The Ikigai Method I created for making a visual mind map of your Ikigai has been used by 100s of people and I believe it’s the most effective method of finding that sweet spot of focus where passion meets purpose.

While many people may complete an Ikigai activity, often it gets filed away and they rarely look at again. What I’ve found from teaching people the Ikigai Method is that the most effective way to live your Ikigai is to make it visual, constantly refining it and visualizing your purpose daily with a mind map.

We’re now going to be offering the Ikigai Method Coach Training to everyone in our Group Flow Coaching Program. If you want to find out more about it, you can download the Group Flow Coaching Guide.

What makes Group Flow Coaching different is that we help you evolve beyond 1:1 coaching and selling your time by the hour to a productized 1:many group coaching community so you can free up your time and impact 10x more lives.

Why Ikigai Matters in the Age of AI

In a world increasingly run by algorithms and automation, Ikigai brings us back to what makes us human.

I believe the foundation of education in this new era where artificial intelligence can replace most routine work, is developing the kind of extraordinary sense of passion and purpose that no robot can replicate.

As AI reshapes industries and workflows, many people are asking deeper questions about meaning, contribution, and identity beyond productivity.

The Ikigai Method gives coaches and clients a grounded framework for setting long-term goals, making aligned decisions and building a meaningful life around what truly matters to them.

When AI can write content, code software, and analyze data faster than any human, the real edge becomes knowing who you are, what only you can offer, and how to design a life that feels fulfilling to you.

Coaches who understand how to guide others through that process will be in demand because while AI can simulate intelligence but it can’t teach purpose.

The Ikigai Coaching Training Framework

Our Ikigai Coaching Training Framework makes it easy to help clients clarify their deeper purpose and translate it into aligned offers, life direction, or career moves.

It covers the original philosophy of Ikigai that is rooted in Japanese culture as well as how Ikigai has been reinvented to help modern people find their passion and purpose. Think of it as a blend of Eastern wisdom and modern coaching psychology.

If you want to try it out for yourself and create your own visual mind map of your Ikigai, you can get the Ikigai Method training.

1. The Ikigai Map: Starting with the Visual

We begin with a mind mapping session using the Ikigai Venn diagram. This helps clients visually organize their self-knowledge around 4 core questions:

  • What do you love?
  • What are you good at?
  • What does the world need?
  • What can you be paid for?

Tools Provided:

  • Customizable Miro + PDF templates
  • Sample prompts for journaling + breakout exercises
  • Coaching questions to go deeper in each quadrant

This visual approach immediately creates clarity and momentum. It sets the stage for pattern recognition, where the coach helps reflect back the deeper threads.

We teach a facilitation flow that works for 1:1, group coaching, or workshops.

2. The 4 Ikigai Realms: Deconstructing Purpose

We guide clients through each of the four intersections through a guided visualization exercise that helps them get more clarity about the intersections of their Ikigai Map:

  • Passion: Where love + skill meet
  • Mission: Where love + need meet
  • Profession: Where skill + payment meet
  • Vocation: Where need + payment meet

Each realm offers insight. For example, someone might be stuck in their profession but feel empty because their mission isn’t engaged. We help them identify gaps and opportunities for integration.

Coaching Focus Areas:

  • Value discovery
  • Life story reflection
  • Energy tracking (what lights them up)
  • Identifying “shoulds” vs. authentic desires

3. Finding the Zone of Genius

Once the intersections are clear, we dive deeper into the Zone of Genius, which the client’s unique edge in a competitive marketplace. This includes:

  • What comes easily to them but is hard for others?
  • What energizes them instead of draining them?
  • What activities produce disproportionate results?

Output:

  • A personalized Zone Of Genius Profile
  • A “stop doing” list to reduce tasks outside their zone
  • Direction for designing more aligned offers or life decisions

4. Productizing Your Genius

Here’s where it gets practical. Once a client’s Ikigai becomes clear, we move into offer alignment and monetization:

  • Map their Ikigai into digital products, workshops, or coaching offers
  • Use the Passion → Problem → Offer flow to build meaningful offers
  • Help them craft messaging that speaks from their purpose and connects emotionally

Included Templates:

  • Offer builder worksheet
  • Workshop and group program design canvas
  • Messaging map for turning Ikigai into client-attracting content

5. The Signature Ikigai Clarity Session

This is the practical tool you’ll deliver as a coach. You’ll learn how to run a powerful 90-minute session that:

  • Helps a client clarify their Ikigai
  • Maps out next steps for integration
  • Ends with a clear action plan or invitation to deeper coaching

You can offer this as:

  • A paid clarity session
  • A lead magnet or sales call alternative
  • A group workshop or mini-retreat activity

The Ikigai Method is not just about personal development, it’s also a guide to practical transformation that helps clients build their life and work around what lights them up.
